Conservation Area: Blending New & Old

Working within a conservation area, careful consideration has been taken to produce a design that will enhance to the current streetscape by reinterpreting the existing materials, forms and mass of the property as president; and blending them seamlessly with the existing building from all elevations visible from the street. In response to the client’s needs for extra space in the form of a bedroom we have proposed enlarging the roof space to create a loft bedroom with adjoining en-suite. The final design element of the proposal is a contemporary Zinc and glass infill which links two disjoined elements of the property and provides a formal space to enjoy the garden grounds
