This house has been designed to reuse as much of the existing house as possible whilst realizing the clients dream of a new family home. The design proposal utilizes a number of key design principles:

• Respects and works with the existing site levels and constraints
• Reuse as much of the existing structure as possible
• Maximises the views from the dwelling into the landscape
• Usage of good quality materials
• Appropriately scaled development
• Careful consideration of the client’s budget

The proposals for remodelling and extending the family home have been carefully considered in order to address the levels, the landscape and views. The proposal has been developed in close collaboration with the client and design team to realize a design that is sensitive to the site and utilises sustainable design principles, including high levels of insulation, reduced heat loss and good levels of natural light penetration.
