Flamingo Swimming Pool and Hydrotherapy Pool

Description

The development consisted of a new 25m swimming pool, a separate hydrotherapy pool, associated changing rooms and a public café / viewing gallery.
Some of the innovative design solutions included:
– The main support structure being created from a glulam timber portal frame, to add interest to the design and minimise any possible corrosion of the structure, due to the high humidity.
– Specialist sound absorbing materials were used to create an excellent acoustic space.
– The water in the pools is filtered through a special UV filter that enables the swimming pool to be almost chlorine free.
